The Brazilian Journal of Soil Science (RBCs) has just published an article that becomes even more special because it is the result of a joint effort of several SBCs members through a working group, created in 2020, within the scope of Division 2 (soil processes and properties), called “GT-Hydraulic owners of Brazilian soils”.
The work aimed to elaborate a saturated hydraulic conductivity database, in the field and in the laboratory, and the basic infiltration rate in Brazilian soils that is easy to manipulate and free access.
In it, it is also possible to find associated information on volumetric water retention, granulometric fractions, soil density, carbon content and other basic soil information, as well as description of sampling sites, including the geographical coordinates of all experimental points.
This database, called Ksat-Ssir-DB, contains 2,579 records corresponding to 406 sampling locations and can be consulted here.
